How did you get into art?

I started with spray paint, and bad tagging in '94 or '95. It took me to art school, soothed my soul, and became my girlfriend. We've been married now for about 4 years and have tons of kids...

How long do your more intricate pieces take and how do you feel when you complete them?

Well, I have one tree stencil, the tree from "leaving for lillihammer" which took about 72 hours. I felt pushed to the outer-edges of my capabilities, and the stencils weren't even finished. After that, it was another 72 hours of work on the building for that piece. When it came time to spray that piece, I had kinda forgotten what it was gonna look like. I removed the last layer, sat back on my ass and thought "holy sh**....."

How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?

I find that the inspiration finds me. It just hits you or sometimes, it was there the whole time, right under your nose and a moment of stupidity or clarity can smack you in the face with it.

What has been your best creation to date?

I like to think the next one will be the best.

Whats the most layers you have put on a stencil?

18 layers, full colour experiment - Mom and Pop Shop

Stencilling doesn't require any artistic skill, just the ability to trace around a photograph?

But a good photograph is hard to take.

Good jokes and gusto.

What makes you sad?

Just about everything these days. Bush and everyone in the mid east is an ass. Well maybe not everybody but all the asses know who they are. I guess that goes for everywhere, they will always stink.

Don Quixote (took forever).

What else do like other than art?

All kinds of stuff, where to start? Just look out for my first movie in late '07.

Any regrets?

Nope.

The images stenciled out are beautiful. I've seen many stencil artists over the years but never one that sparked any envy in me until now. You have created complex textures with spray paint, paper, and blade at a level that I wish I could do with oil paints and a pallet knife. Truly gorgeous work.
