How did you get into art?
I have been drawing since I was very young, but I don´t think I saw very much future in it growing up. It is more recently that I discovered alot of other artists getting there work out there, which has inspired me to work even harder.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
Nature is a big inspiration for me, I like organic shapes and lines, and beeing outside, sitting by the sea usually gets the inspiration flowing.
Also I like reading comics.
What has been your best creation to date?
I think what I am working on right now. Organizing an art exhibition here in Sweden called D.Strokes www.dstrokes.se.
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
A huge amount, still I hope that people try to think and react for themselves, and not always rely on what influential people write or say.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
Wolfmother, That was probably last year, I´m not so updated when it comes to new music.
How did you feel when you realised that art could make you some money?
That would be great, still waiting for that to happen.
Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?
Well we can´t really turn our ears of and not hear music, it is something that we can enjoy without any real effort. Music is alot more accessible than art. I think people enjoy art but are to lazy to go and see it. If it was delivered to their door every day they would probably show more interest. Though I don´t really think you can compare the two. Personally music and art speaks to me in different ways.
How does it feel to be interviewed?
Feels great! Pretty good questions too.
Describe your ideal day?
Nice weather, coffee, Swedish Snuff and a fishing rod in my hand.
Sex, drugs or rock n roll?
Wish there was more of all of them, but the good times seems to be behind me, I guess that work has taken over more and more. But there is still some rock n roll left in these old bones.
Last book you read?
I don´t read that many books anymore, but I would recomend Steppenwolf by Hermann Hesse.
Most treasured possession?
Sucks to say that it is my laptop.
Last time you lied?
I lie to myself everyday, just to get out of bed.
What's your favourite film?
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and The Big Blue.
Is there a downside to being so talented?
I guess when you think that you have a talent you persue it all your life and forget about alot of other important stuff. But I don´t consider myself very talented, so I have time for other things.
Ask yourself (and answer) a question?
Future plans?
The future looks great if you ask me. It´s like huge wave that is building up, and everyone can come along for a great ride.
What's your worst habit?
Being a grumpy old man trapped inside a young mans body.
Any close encounters with the law?
No not really. They leave me alone and I intend to keep it that way.
What else do like other than art?
Playing guitar, occasional surfing and fishing.
Any regrets?
I think all experiences are valuable in some way. But I think that I should have focused on art alot earlier in my life.
Final thoughts?
There are so many creative people out there, that are involved in interesting projects. So I just hope that I can keep up and take part in as much stuff as possible. I wish the best to all artists out there. keep on pushing and good things will come your way.
