How did you get into art?
As far back as I can remember I have been interested in image making …. I was useless at anything else.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
I'm always digging for ethnic/tribal designs to draw from, other artists. Inspiration can hit you at anytime.
What has been your best creation to date?
It's impossible to say, some works can be successful on many different levels, so Ive not got a favourite….
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
I think a lot of people are weak-minded and get swayed by hype, but its all swings and roundabouts.
How did you become involved in vector art?
As soon as I got my first decent computer I was straight onto Adobe Illustrator and never looked back… it’s a shame in a way as I tend to draw almost exclusively on it and not so much traditionally these days.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
Sixtoo – chewing on glass & other miracle cures.
How did you feel when you realised that art could make you some money?
I used to feel it was a bonus, but now it’s a necessity.
Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?
Accessibility and cost to name a couple… I was thinking of copyrighting ‘ididit’ before Apple, its where you download your favorite artists pictures for your desktop wallpaper…. Never believe anything I say!
How did people share art before the interweb was invented?
Old school networking like meeting in coffee shops, wearing berets so you can spot other artists in public and swapping sketchbooks.
What makes you happy?
Most things.
What makes you sad?
Not many things.
Sex, drugs or rock n roll?
Ill take the first two…
Last book you read?
Crash Cultures
Tell us a secret?
I cant, im good at keeping them.
Quote us your favourite song lyric?
Hmmm tough one, but this one always makes me laugh, its from a Quasimotto track.
“…She started asking for my number, I said,
I don’t mean to diss you,
…but let me shake your hand ‘cos im never gona kiss you…”
What time did you get up?
Around 7am.
Any close encounters with the law?
A few minor scrapes but i'm unscathed.
What else do you like other than art?
Coffee, tea, a nice crumpet, pies, music, films, crisps, walking, sunny weather, good company, alcohol, an anticipated cigarette, bed… all on the same day, in that order.
Any regrets?
I wish I kept hold of all my star wars figures from when I was a kid.
Final thoughts?
I’d like to say a big thanks to J3concepts for putting my name forward for this and to Mr. Burrows for putting it up!
