How long have you been into art and what got you interested?
Been stencilling for about a year and a half. First started because I was going to a gig in Sydney and decided I wanted to make myself a t-shirt. At first I was only going to use iron on transfers but found some cool silhouette pics that I though would make a good stencil. I really liked the way the shirt turned out and just started cutting more stencils.
Whats the best thing and worst thing about your the art you do?
The best thing is that it is so free and creative. I can produce an artistic piece that I intend to have placed in a gallery, or I can create a controversial stencil, which I may throw up on the side of a building which may been seen by hundreds of people each day. the worst thing is that street art is not appreciated as much as it should, and that a lot of street based work gets buffed within days of being put up.
Whats been your best piece to date?
It would have to be a toss up between my angel and Grinspoon pieces. The angel piece is an original work but my Grinspoon stencil is the most technical and detailed piece that I have done.
Have your sold any of your work?
I have sold a few pieces. Last year me and a few friends had a small exhibition as the collaborative “ROCKERS WEAR SUITS \m/ $.$ \m/”. Most of the pieces were done on vinyl records and I sold about 8 prints. Apart from that exhibition I've never really been organized enough to attempt to sell my work.
What was the last book you read?
The last book I read was actually “stencil graffiti capital Melbourne'. My girlfriend just bought it for me. Loads of great stuff in it. Tons of inspiration.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
The Arctic Monkeys– whatever people say I am, That's what im not. Yes, they are as good as you have heard. And My Chemical Romance– Life On The Murder Scene.
Other than Art, what else do you like to do?
Um. Not that much. Im studying graphic design at uni which takes up a lot of time but that possibly could be classified as art.
Finally, if you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Absolutely nothing…(actually I need a haircut right now but that's about it.)
