How did you get into art?
I've always enjoyed doodling, crafty stuff like making cards and photography. The digital stuff started when I joined b3ta.com and started to use Photoshop. I found I could use it for more than just pasting George Bush's head onto a chimp and started creating different sorts of images.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
Normally from a really good photograph or seeing some colour combinations that just grab me.
What has been your best creation to date?
My daughter. Silly question. She won the Headteacher's Award yesterday for her beautiful handwriting - she is 4.
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
I think hype affects it to a great extent. There's always a tendency to follow the crowd and not expose one's ignorance by disagreeing with the received wisdom from critics. I just like what I like. So there.
B3ta seems to attract people with a certain sense of humour?
Yeah, we're all a bit warped I suppose. I know quite a few b3tans in real life and they're all lovely, very quick-witted with an acute sense of the absurd and an ear for a pun.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
My Secret is my Silence by Roddy Woomble. My god, that man's a genius.
Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?
Because music is so accessible and cheap enough that it's almost disposable. Art requires some appreciation.
Know any jokes?
Oh yeah, loads. I like any joke that my sister fails to get.
What makes you happy?
Cuddles and seeing my loved ones being happy.
What makes you sad?
People shouting.
Sex, drugs or rock n roll?
I am a married mother in rural Lancashire. Nuff said.
Last book you read?
It's for my book group: The Secret Purposes by David Baddiel about the internment of German Jews on the Isle of Man in the second world war.
I'm quite enjoying it. Just before that I read some thriller crime novel by Karin Slaughter and before that the Booker prize winner The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai.
Tell us a secret?
I'm not as boring as I make out.
Quote us your favourite song lyric?
Um. I could have told you when I was 14, but not now. Sorry.
What time did you get up?
9.30 today cos my husband took our daughter to school and I'm not working today, it's normally between 7.30 and 8.00.
Any close encounters with the law?
I got a diploma in land law last year. Other than that, I was once caught doing 34mph. I am ridiculously law abiding - I get guilty you see.
What else do like other than art?
I like cooking, especially cakes. I like reading literary fiction. And I like hanging around in pubs with strange men and women I met off the internet talking about kittens and liberal politics.
Any regrets?
Not finishing my PhD in microbiology.
Final thoughts...
Goodbye cruel world!
