Professionally; I started out as a student of Graphic Design, Illustration and Advertising. A few months before the course was finished, I landed a job as a concept artist and have been working in that capacity ever since.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
I listen to music. Nothing gets the creative juices flowing faster than a good tune.
What has been your best creation to date?
My most successful creation to date has been the Sequential Art strip, but my favourite work is a comic that I’ve yet to finish or make details of public.
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
Hype only sways people with no imagination. If you have to be told what should and should not appeal to you; you’re a sheep. Go back to the farm and chew grass.
B3ta seems to attract people with a certain sense of humour?
Yes. Yes it does…….pull my finger.
What's your most annoying habit ?
Projectile vomiting .
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
I think it was the OST to Superman Returns. I really liked the Lex Luthor theme.
How did you feel when you realised that art could make money?
All tingly.
Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?
Music’s usually cheaper and the general public are more inclined to quickly pop into HMV than a local gallery.
Know any jokes?
No. General sarcasm is my weapon of choice.
What makes you happy?
Completing a project and looking back on it with a satisfied sense of accomplishment.
What makes you sad?
Handing over any profit made from a project to the tax man.
Sex, drugs or rock n roll?
Rock n Roll……but only at a respectable volume.
Last book you read?
Aside from reference books on history and culture, I read more comics than I do ‘proper’ books. I’m currently wading through the Witchblade compendium.
Tell us a secret?
Can’t. They’d find me and take my thumbs.
Quote us your favourite song lyric?
“The world is not enough, but it is such a perfect place to start…..” – The World Is Not Enough, by Garbage.
Is there anything more stressful than moving house?
Moving house while blindfolded……or being chased by a bear.
Any close encounters with the law?
Nope. I’m a good boy.
What else do like other than art?
Computer games have been a passion of mine since the 80s. I looooove my games.
Any regrets?
That I’m not more disciplined. I get distracted far too easily. If I didn’t I’d have a mountain of finished projects under my belt by now.
Final thoughts...
Unleash the pies.

Jollyjack, has some of the most original and creative style drawings, it's to bad this "interview" focuses more about throwing around random questions then actually asking more ethical questions.

Perhaps you could suggest some "ethical questions" and we'll ask Phillip and add them to his "interview".

Well u hooked me as i saw Sequential Art strips for the first time!, Now i can't get enough. U inspired me in many silly things, but all in all i hope to see alot more of your work. Thanks for an awesome strips. Hope to see more soon!.
I discovered Mr. Jackson while on one of Fred "Gold Digger" Perry's forums. It was love (of his art) at first sight. It was clean and crisp, yet captured all the emotions you could imagine. Everyone's taste in art is different, but i think his art connects everyone's taste
Since you draw so many women, I would've thought you were to prefer sex. Guess that's what I get for not knowing someone well. Heh, heh! Go back and chew grass... What Peter means is that you shouldn't be swayed by a fad in art styles. Sure, you can try one out once in a while, but if you completely depend on fads, you aren't anybody unique. Finally, I feel assured that I can stick with my scratchy, sketchy art style. Thank you so much, Peter. You really helped out someone you don't know out there. Sequential Art is the best!
Sequential Art is my favourite comic strip. You are a great artist.

Indeed one of the best artists I know of in my personal taste. Once had a friend who drew similar, not sure what happened to him. Wow, went off course already. Well, take care, keep up the awesome artwork.
