How did you get into art?

I started at 4 and never stopped, I'm a self-made artist.

How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?

It's a natural process in everyday life. But what the client asks for is also a motivation.

What has been your best creation to date?

I like most of my drawnings, but I could mention those over there on the right.

How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?

Hype affects a lot during a short time. Nothing else.

Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?

I don't steal or download. The last one I bought was a Silvinha Telles CD: the best of bossa-nova, in my opinion.

How did you feel when you realised that art could make money??

I felt really well. That was nice.

Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?

I think that is because music is intrusive. If your neighbour listens to loud music then you hear it too, even if you don't want to. But if the same neighbour reads a book or look at some paintings that experience is restricted to him. There's the cultural part too, in the Renaissance people spent more money on art.

Know any jokes?

Yes. One from Luiz Fernando Veríssimo. Two cavemans each one with a bat in it's hand. One looks to the other and asks: - Do you know the first?

What makes you happy?

A good talk through the night with some wine or coffee, a good soccer game, a good drawing, love...

What makes you sad?

Violence and stupiditty of those who think that violence solves anything. My father's absence.

Sex, drugs or rock n roll?

Sex with love.

What's your favourite soup?

Green broth. Is a portuguese soup.

Tell us a secret?

If I tell it's not gonna be a secret anymore, and I respect it.

What's your favourite music?

Eine Kleine Nachtmusik ( 1º Movement ) Mozart; Jesus Christus, unser Heiland,  Bach; Área Cantilena ( Bachiana nº 5 ) of Villa Lobos.

What time did you get up?

Depends on the day. I usually work through the night and sleep through the day.

Any close encounters with the law?

None.

What else do like other than art?

Soccer and literature.

Any regrets?

Yes.
