How did you get into art?
Through the natural course of following what I loved to do most. It wasn't always drawing, but that became my foundation to think up all sorts of ideas. Now I feel creating is so much a part of my life, I feel very detached when I'm not making stuff.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
Staying aware of my surroundings and the ever-evolving world that is in constant motion. Staying connected to the voice within as well as the Creator above.
What has been your best creation to date?
Always my latest creation…I'm always moving forward.
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
It helps, but it only goes so far. It's up to the artists to stay true to themselves and be willing to breakthrough that initial hype and continue to grow beyond what is expected.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
No more shoplifting for me, or its jail time, but it was Wax Tailor “hope and sorrow” – saw him perform live, and was dying to hear more.
How did you feel when you realised that art could make you some money?
Honestly I was surprised the first time I was offered money for a piece of work I had done. It was in junior high and someone had offered me 50 cents for a drawing of their name, and things sort of grew from there. It's no easy feat to keep the balance of making money as an artist and to be satisfied with your output. It's something you never stop learning.
Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?
Corrupt record labels found out you can make money off exploiting talent.
Where would you be without art?
Hopefully doing something else that's good like volunteering overseas, but the direction my life was headed before I took art seriously, probably in jail.
What makes you happy?
Seeing other people happy.
What makes you sad?
Ignorance.
What's it like to be interviewed?
Its great! My chance to sound smart.
Sex, drugs or rock n roll?
All things in moderation.
Last book you read?
The Lost Art of Leadership.
What's your favourite soup?
The homemade kind.
Tell us a secret?
Well then it wouldn't be a secret now would it?
Quote us your favourite song lyric?
“the darkest days come right before the light.”
Is there a downside to being so talented?
Not sure.
Ask yourself (and answer) a question?
Why?…Why not.
What else do you like other than art?
Dancing. Travelling. Mexican Food.
Any regrets?
Not yet.
Final thoughts?
Thanks to everyone in my life that inspire me, support me, and keep me grounded.
