How did you get into art?
I drew and painted when I was just a wee lesley. I used to draw little characters on empty toilet paper rolls when I was bored with my barbies. Paper dolls were a big hit also.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
From music, friends, literature, circumstances
Your style is unique, how did you develop it?
Its been a long and winding road, sort of just organically has compiled itself through the years.
What has been your best creation to date?
Hmm...pretty stoked on the new pieces I just completed for my 2-person show at ThinkSpace gallery next week.
How did you feel when you realised that art could earn you a living?
Amazed that I could actually get a higher education in art training, and then discouraged after I graduated and realized I had to bust my ass harder than any other profession.
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
It can definitely affect certain people. But, true art lovers and collectors aren't influenced by the hype, I know I'm certainly not.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
Yikes. Probably a "learn to speak French in 10 minutes!" something or other. I'm moving to Paris soon, and desperately trying to learn a lil' français. I am a bad student.
What make you happy?
My husband, my family and pals, babysitting my friends dog "The Boonces".
What makes you sad?
People in first world countries unaffected by the suffering in 3rd world countries.
Last book you read?
A comic book - Maakies, Tony Millionaire
What else do like other than art?
Reading comics, discussing the paranormal, cooking, cleaning the house (I have a sickness, I know.)
Any regrets?
Not going to the beach enough.
Final thoughts...
Three be the things I shall have till I die: Laughter and hope and a sock in the eye. Dorothy Parker.
