Is Thundercut a solo effort or an artistic collective?
Collective, we are two, somethings are more TH1 and others more TH2 but who really cares anyway.
How did you get into art?
We both come from artistic families.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
Inspiration is everywhere, especially in the ordinary.
What has been your best creation to date?
The most recent creation, our son Easton, he is perfect.
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
A lot. But hopefully it does not affect perception of your own creativity.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
How did you feel when you realised that art could make you some money?
It is nice but not necessary, a lot of the stuff we make does not generate money.
Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?
There are less people who appreciate art, but, it seems like the numbers are increasing.
Are they the worlds coolest fridge magnets?
Some are cool, others are shy, goofy, stylish, melancholy, bored, conservative, introspective, happy, empathic, bohemian, ......... and we have not met them all just yet.
Any close encounters with the law?
Maybe a few but no art related arrests.
What makes you happy?
Easton, friends, family, traveling, our cats and the ocean.
What makes you sad?
Polar bears without icebergs to sleep on.
Sex, drugs or rock n roll?
Still yes, then no then yes again.
Last book you read?
The baby owner's manual.
Tell us a secret?
Can't do it, I promised I would not tell.
What time did you get up?
3:00am then 5:00 am then 9:00am.
What do you drive?
87 honda wagovan, the little egg car named vanish.
Ask yourself (and answer) a question?
Hey Dan, do you want some candy?
No, I don't take candy from strangers.
What else do you like other than art?
Snowboarding, traveling, laughing, friends, family and sake.
Any regrets?
That it took us 9 months to answer these questions.
Final thoughts?
Lately i have been trying to live as a bag-free consumer.
