How did you get into art?
My family are quite creative, so I was always in to drawing and going to galleries. It kinda happened naturally.
How do you get inspiration for the pieces you produce?
Mainly music, but I also get obsessed by a type of object and try and find as many version of that object as I can, for example I had a project about old sound systems and I got totally immersed in speaker culture. I suppose now Im mainly drawing old decrepit east London buildings, I've just moved here so there new to me.
What has been your best creation to date?
I cant really say most of the work I do buy the time I've finished I don't want to look at it anymore. So at the moment its my most current piece of work, a 12'' Sleeve for Passenger Records, Its really simple I just drew some tires that I found left on the street and made a repeat pattern out of them. I was surprised how well it came out.
How much do you think hype affects the public perception of what good art is?
Quite alot, but I think if thats the reason that a piece of art is considered good then the attention it gets is often short lived.
Last CD you bought/downloaded/shoplifted?
My girlfriend just bought the new Amy Winehouse cd, I'm surprised how much I like it, it's good to work to.
How did you feel when you realised that art could make you some money?
Its a strange feeling, Im still not that comfortable with it, it still feels like a hobby that I enjoy, and I see my parents and they hate there jobs, I suppose your lucky if you enjoy your job.
Why do so many people spend money on music yet so few buy art?
I haven't got a clue?
How does it feel to be interviewed?
Strange.
Describe your ideal day?
Spend the day with my gorgeous girlfriend.......yeah thats all I'm going to say.....then maybe go get KFC?
Sex, drugs or rock n roll?
Haha, all three.
Last book you read?
Jurrasic Park by Michael Crichton. I was 16.
What's your favourite film?
Jurrasic Park.
Is there a downside to being so talented?
I don't know about that.
What's your worst habit?
I used to bite my nails but it was my new year resolution to stop, so I haven't since then. I have some others but you wouldn't want to know.
Any close encounters with the law?
A few.
What else do you like other than art?
I really like bikes at the moment, I swapped some canvases for a fixed gear bike with a mate, and know all I look at when Im out is whos got the hottest ride.GEEK.
Any regrets?
A few.
Final thoughts?
Go safe....
